Background


Born and raised in London, Duane discovered music at an early age. Influenced by hip hop, punk, and 70’s, 80s, and 90’s rock and alternative, Duane embarked on a musical journey that has taken him from St Johns, Nfld, through to Vancouver Island. Duane has had notable musical experiences both in front of the mic and behind the stage. In 2007, Duane was nominated to be on Canadian Idol and made it to the Top 100. Through that Duane continued to grow and develop his passion for creating and performing. Duane went on to form a number of local bands and win an entrepreneurial award through Youth Opportunities Unlimited. As well, Duane continued to expand his knowledge and talent by working as a stage hand for many notable productions and concerts in London and the surrounding area.


Musical Style


With a sound that fuses acoustic guitars with loop-pedals, vocals and instrumentation, Duane creates music that is exciting, entertaining, and enjoyable. Duane seamlessly blends creativitiy and talent with songwriting and story-telling, resulting in a sonic experience that is both relatable and compelling


Achievements


Since the mid-90’s, Duane has been an active and dedicated musician and songwriter. While working as a gigging musician, he also worked as music teacher, stage-technician, sound-engineer, and recording artist. Having wona few local battle of the bands competitions in the mid 2000’s, he went on to audition and get selected for Canadian Idol, Top 100 in 2007. Duane returned to London and continued to develop his craft through live performances, teaching, whilst earning recognition for his talents and dedication to developing himself as an artist and musician.
